About Black Panther 3
This is the planned third film in Marvel Studios' Black Panther series, following Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Marvel is keeping the plot under wraps, but the film follows T'Challa's son, the boy introduced in the final scene of Wakanda Forever, now grown up. It arrives after Avengers: Secret Wars, as part of the MCU's next saga.
Ryan Coogler, who directed and co-wrote both earlier films, is returning to direct; producer Nate Moore confirmed this in February 2025. Moore is also back to produce, even though he left his role at Marvel Studios in March 2025. Work was set to start after Coogler finished his 2025 film Sinners, and development was underway by November 2025. At San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, Marvel set a December 15, 2028 release date and announced David Jonsson as T'Challa II, T'Challa's son, with Letitia Wright and Winston Duke returning. Denzel Washington is also in the film; Coogler confirmed his involvement in June 2025, though his role is still a secret. No filming dates have been announced yet.

- Coogler and Kevin Feige were already discussing a third film by November 2022.
- The Wakanda Forever spin-off Ironheart premiered in June 2025.
How to watch it
There's nothing to watch yet, but you can prepare. Rewatch Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, since this continues their story. Ironheart and Eyes of Wakanda expand the corner of the MCU around Wakanda. Avengers: Doomsday features the Wakandans too, so it's worth catching before this film.
