Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information marvelwatchorder.com (“Marvel Watch Order”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the site, why, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, our email address is in the Contact section at the end.
1. Information stored in your browser
Our tools save your choices with your browser’s local storage so they’re still there when you come back. This includes:
- titles you’ve ticked as watched or skipped in the watch tracker, character trackers and the checklist
- your rankings in the tier list maker
- simple display preferences, such as which filter you last used
This data stays on your device. It isn’t sent to us, to Google or to anyone else, and we can’t see it. You can delete it at any time with the reset buttons in each tool, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. If you use the tracker’s backup or share features, the file or link is created on your device and only goes where you choose to send it.
2. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how people use the site: which pages are popular, how visitors find us, which tools get used, and where pages need improving. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as:
- pages you view, how long you stay and how you navigate between them
- how you arrived (for example a search engine or a link from another site)
- your approximate location (country or city level), device type, browser and screen size
- interactions such as clicks on tools and buttons
Google Analytics 4 doesn’t log or store full IP addresses. We don’t use it to identify individual visitors, we don’t send it your name or email address, and we don’t enable Google signals or advertising features in Analytics. We keep Analytics data for no longer than 14 months. Reports we see are aggregated statistics.
To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or, where we ask for your consent, by declining analytics cookies.
3. Advertising
To keep the site free, we may show ads. If we show ads, they may be served by Google AdSense or other advertising partners. These partners, including Google, may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
4. Cookies and your consent
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We don’t set any cookies of our own for tracking, but Google Analytics does, and Google AdSense would if we show ads:
| Type | Set by | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Analytics (for example _ga, _ga_*) | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart so we can count visitors and see how the site is used | Up to 2 years |
Advertising (for example __gads, __gpi, IDE) | Advertising partners such as Google AdSense | Serves and measures ads, limits repeats and, if you allow it, personalizes ads | Up to 13 months |
| Consent | Our consent tool, where we use one | Remembers your cookie choices | Up to 12 months |
If you’re in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before any analytics or advertising cookies are set, using a consent tool that meets Google’s requirements. You’ll be able to accept, reject or choose by category, and change your choice at any time. If you reject, Google may still show non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for things like fraud prevention and frequency capping where the law allows.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features of ads and analytics won’t.
5. Information collected automatically
Our pages are delivered by a hosting provider whose servers receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Those logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited time under its own policies, and we don’t use them to identify visitors.
6. Other third-party services
- Links to other websites. We link to streaming services, official Marvel pages and other sites. Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply, not ours.
7. When you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and, for corrections, to fix the page. We don’t add you to a mailing list or share your message. We keep emails only as long as they’re useful, and you can ask us to delete them.
8. Legal bases (UK and EU visitors)
Under the UK and EU GDPR, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, on our legitimate interests for keeping the site secure and working, and on legitimate interests to reply when you email us. Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
9. US state privacy rights
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you can ask what personal information we hold, ask us to delete it, and opt out of personalized ads. We don’t sell personal information. To opt out of personalized ads, use Google’s Ads Settings or email us.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you, to object to or restrict how it’s used, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we hold very little personal information ourselves, most requests are simple. Email us at the address in the Contact section below and we’ll respond within the time the law requires. For data held by Google, you can also use Google’s privacy controls.
11. Children
Marvel Watch Order is a general-audience site about films and TV. It isn’t directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some countries), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information or show them personalized ads. If you believe a child has sent us personal details, contact us and we’ll delete them.
12. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and because we don’t store accounts or tool data on our servers, there’s very little personal information held by us. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, though, so we can’t promise absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, for example by adding a new ad partner, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Significant changes are also noted on our What’s New page.
14. Contact
Questions about privacy go to hello@marvelwatchorder.com, or see our contact page. You can also read our Terms of Use.
