About Cloak & Dagger: Season 1
Season 1 is the origin story. Years ago, the night the Roxxon Gulf platform collapsed, Tandy Bowen lost her father in a car crash and Tyrone Johnson watched his older brother Billy die, shot by NOPD detective James Connors. Now in their late teens, they meet again in New Orleans and find that their new powers, Tandy's light daggers and Tyrone's teleporting darkness, work better together. As they dig into their pasts, both are pulled toward the same people: Roxxon's Peter Scarborough, who buried Tandy's father's work, and Connors, who has never paid for Billy's death.
Showrunner Joe Pokaski developed the series for Freeform, with Olivia Holt as Tandy and Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone, plus Gloria Reuben, Andrea Roth, J. D. Evermore as Connors and Emma Lahana as Detective Brigid O'Reilly. The 10 episodes aired from June 7 to August 2, 2018, and were shot on location in New Orleans. Critics liked it, giving it 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Watch both seasons before Runaways season 3, where the pair cross over. It's a good fit for viewers who like character-driven teen dramas more than big superhero action.
