About What If...?: Season 2
Season 2 of What If...? moves beyond small tweaks to familiar MCU events and gets noticeably looser and stranger. Its nine episodes jump between genres: a Nova Corps noir mystery starring Nebula, an '80s-style Avengers story with a young Peter Quill, a Die Hard-style Christmas episode for Happy Hogan, and a Marvel 1602 adventure. The standout is Kahhori, a new Mohawk hero from a world where European colonization never took hold. Captain Carter returns for a spy-flavored follow-up to season 1's mid-credits scene.
A. C. Bradley returned as head writer, and Bryan Andrews directed most of the season, with Stephan Franck directing the premiere. Jeffrey Wright is back as the Watcher, alongside returning MCU actors such as Hayley Atwell, Karen Gillan, Cate Blanchett, Kurt Russell and Benedict Cumberbatch. Devery Jacobs voices Kahhori. Episodes run about 30 minutes, and Disney+ released one a day from December 22 to 30, 2023, the first time Marvel Studios used a daily schedule for a show. It scored 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

How to watch it
Watch season 1 first, since several episodes continue its threads, especially Captain Carter and Strange Supreme. The more Phase Four you've seen, the more cameos land: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings helps with the Hela episode. If you only have time for a few, choose the Kahhori, Captain Carter and finale episodes. The Christmas episode works as a stand-alone holiday watch. Season 3 picks up Kahhori and Captain Carter again.
