Who is Sentry?
Bob Reynolds, the Sentry, was created by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee and debuted in The Sentry #1 in 2000. The hook was metafictional: Marvel presented him as a forgotten hero who had been around since the early days, his existence wiped from everyone's memory. He has the "power of a million exploding suns," but he also carries the Void, a destructive dark side. Brian Michael Bendis later folded him into New Avengers, and he went on to the Mighty Avengers and Dark Avengers.
In the MCU, Lewis Pullman plays Bob, with Clayton Cooper playing him as a child. He debuted in Thunderbolts* (May 2, 2025). While Valentina Allegra de Fontaine faces impeachment over the O.X.E. Group's "Project Sentry," a group of operatives she sends to a covert facility finds an amnesiac man named Bob, who turns out to be connected to those experiments.
Pullman is confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for December 18, 2026.
