Trevor Slattery Watch Order: Every MCU Appearance
The 4 titles below run in story order, starting with Iron Man 3 and, for now, ending with Wonder Man: Season 1. Trevor Slattery is the actor who played the Mandarin, and he turns up from Iron Man 3 to Shang-Chi.
Set aside about 10h 36m for the full list of 2 films, 1 series season and 1 special or short, which came out from 2013 to 2026.
Who is Trevor Slattery?
Trevor Slattery is not a comics creation. He was developed for Iron Man 3 by director Shane Black and writer Drew Pearce as part of the film's take on the Mandarin. The comics Mandarin is a legendary leader of the Ten Rings, and Black has said the film set out to avoid the Fu Manchu stereotype attached to that version. What Slattery has to do with the Mandarin is the film's big twist, so it's in the spoiler box on this page.
Ben Kingsley plays him, and has said he wanted a voice that would unsettle a Western audience. In Iron Man 3 (2013) Slattery is a washed-up English actor, and the way he fits into Aldrich Killian's plans split fans, since the marketing had shown only the terrorist. The Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King (2014) picks him up in prison.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) brings him back in a supporting role, keeping company with a hundun he names Morris. The Wonder Man miniseries, released on Disney+ in full on January 27, 2026 across eight episodes, finds Slattery back in Hollywood, detained by the FBI and DODC and told to surveil Simon Williams.
Spoiler Spoilers for Trevor Slattery’s story: tap to reveal
- Iron Man 3's twist: the Mandarin is a persona assembled by Aldrich Killian and A.I.M. to manufacture a terrorist for television, and Slattery is the actor hired to front it while A.I.M. covers up its Extremis failures. Tony Stark exposes him and he is arrested.
