About Avengers: Secret Wars
Avengers: Secret Wars is the planned conclusion of the MCU's Multiverse Saga and the final film of Phase Six. It directly follows Avengers: Doomsday and is loosely inspired by two comic events: Jim Shooter's Secret Wars from 1984–85, where heroes and villains are forced to fight on an alien world, and Jonathan Hickman's 2015–16 Secret Wars, where the multiverse collapses into a patchwork world called Battleworld. Specific plot details haven't been released as of October 2026.
Anthony and Joe Russo direct through their company AGBO, with Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely writing. Robert Downey Jr. is cast as Doctor Doom, and many actors from earlier MCU projects are expected to return, though the full cast hasn't been confirmed. Filming was scheduled to begin in mid-2026 at Pinewood Studios in England for about six months. The release is set for December 17, 2027.

Treat this as the second half of Avengers: Doomsday, so watch that film first. Loki, Deadpool & Wolverine and The Fantastic Four: First Steps are all useful background for the multiverse story. If you've followed the Multiverse Saga since Loki, this is where it's headed. Newer viewers should at least watch Avengers: Endgame before Doomsday, since that's the last time the Avengers were together on screen.
