About Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: Season 1
Season 1 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man retells Peter Parker's first year as a hero with one big change. Peter is a 15-year-old freshman at Rockford T. Bales High School who gets his powers through a time-travel accident during Doctor Strange's fight with a symbiote. Norman Osborn becomes his mentor instead of Tony Stark. The season brings in a fresh supporting cast, including Nico Minoru, Harry Osborn and Pearl Pangan, and a set of less familiar villains: Lonnie Lincoln on his path to becoming Tombstone, the Scorpions gang led by Mac Gargan and arms supplier Otto Octavius.
Jeff Trammell created the series and serves as showrunner and head writer, with Mel Zwyer as supervising director. Hudson Thames voices Peter, reprising his role from What If...?, and Colman Domingo voices Norman. Kari Wahlgren plays Aunt May, Grace Song plays Nico, Eugene Byrd plays Lonnie, Zeno Robinson plays Harry and Hugh Dancy plays Otto. The 3D cel-shaded animation recalls the early Ditko and Romita comics. Disney+ released the ten episodes from January 29 to February 19, 2025, and the season scored 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The opening plays like a remix of Peter's Captain America: Civil War introduction, so that film is a fun comparison. Watch in order, because Lonnie's arc and Norman's mentorship build all season. The Daredevil episode and the last two episodes are the highlights. Season 2 picks up the story in January 2027.
