Sony built its own Spider-Man spin-off universe around Spider-Man’s villains, without Spider-Man. Venom (2018) was the hit that started it: Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and his symbiote bickering like an old married couple. The two sequels lean even further into that odd-couple comedy.
The connection to the MCU is brief and happens in post-credit scenes, so keep watching through the credits of Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Venom: The Last Dance (2024) wraps up Hardy’s trilogy.
The other films in Sony’s universe (Morbius, Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter) were poorly received, and the series wound down after Kraven.
Venom movies in release order

The rest of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe
- Morbius (2022): Jared Leto as the living vampire.
- Madame Web (2024): Dakota Johnson as a clairvoyant paramedic.
- Kraven the Hunter (2024): Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kraven. The last SSU release.
- Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021): MCU film with a mid-credit scene Venom fans should catch.
The best order to watch the Venom movies
Venom → Let There Be Carnage → (No Way Home, for the crossover scene) → The Last Dance. The other Sony films are optional.
The mid-credit scene of Let There Be Carnage pulls Eddie into the MCU’s world, and No Way Home’s mid-credit scene, where he’s in a bar, sends him back to his own universe.Spoiler Spoilers for Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home: tap to reveal
Because these are Sony films, they don’t live on Disney+ the way MCU films do. Newer Sony releases go to Netflix first, and older ones rotate through other services, such as Starz, on time-limited licenses.
